Squeaky clean from teeth surfaces and everything in between
In addition to brushing your teeth two times a day, it is important to visit the dentist two times a year for your routine scaling & polishing session (teeth cleaning).
During a teeth cleaning session, your dentist would help to remove any plaque (sticky, harmful bacteria found on teeth surfaces) and tartar (plaque that has built up on teeth over time) which cannot be removed by tooth-brushing. This will help to increase your chances of keeping your teeth clean during your oral care routine at home and prevent gum disease.

What is scaling and polishing?
It is essential to keep your teeth clean and prevent gum disease. Teeth cleaning sessions should take place twice a year, or as per the frequency that your dental specialist recommends.
What is involved during treatment?
An ultrasonic scaler is used to gently remove plaque and tartar during scaling. This dental instrument has a small scaling tip that produces a soft ultrasonic vibration to loosen any hardened tartar and water is used to wash the debris away.
As compared to a normal dental scaler and curette, the ultrasonic scaler is more efficient in removing tartar and provides that patient with a higher level of comfort.
After scaling is completed, polishing is carried out to remove any extrinsic stains and make your teeth shiny and smooth.
A soft rubber cup is used to spin a toothpaste-like material around the surfaces of your teeth. After polishing, the natural colour of your tooth would be seen.
