If you haven’t heard of it, Invisalign is the latest technology in orthodontics. Invisalign are clear, removable aligners that are an alternative to traditional metal braces . They are custom designed and customized for each patient using 3-D imaging software so you can be sure the aligners you get are tailored to your teeth.
With this latest technology, orthodontists are able to show patients a computer simulation of the movement of teeth from the beginning of treatment to the end result. It is certainly interesting to visualize how someone with protruding, crooked or gapped teeth will be transformed into having straight teeth with a beautiful smile.
The aesthetic benefits of Invisalign treatment are very appealing. Many patients are eager and excited about their Invisalign treatment because they can see their teeth gradually moving… without anyone noticing (since Invisalign aligners are clear and nearly invisible – analogous to “contact lenses” for teeth).
With Invisalign, you can continue with your normal routine – you can eat and drink without the dietary restrictions of removing your aligners when eating or brushing your teeth. Unlike traditional metal braces, this set of aligners also does not have wire brackets that can cause friction in the mouth, leading to canker sores or abrasions in the oral cavity. It is highly recommended that you wear your aligners for a minimum of 20 hours per day (excluding meal times) and this is easy to achieve.
