Coinciding with National Orthodontic Health Month, is National Bullying Prevention Month in America!
Bullying is a severe problem among schooling children and teenagers. It frequently happens during the child’s formative years, and can cause significant long-term psychological distress. Children with buck teeth, or crooked, or spaced teeth are more susceptible to bullying.
Orthodontic treatment can help by straightening teeth and improving one’s smile. In fact, some orthodontic problems are more effectively corrected at a young age, by guiding jaw growth and adult teeth into more ideal positions. This can minimize the need for more extensive and expensive treatment at a later age.
Some functional benefits to early orthodontic treatment are:
- Achieving alignment of the jaws
- Lowering risk of dental trauma to protruded front teeth
- Reducing damage to the gums of teeth from anomalies in the bite
- Guiding the adult teeth to emerge into more favourable positions
Give your child a chance at a healthy, beautiful smile.
