Periodontal plastic surgery refers to surgical procedures performed to prevent or correct anatomic, developmental, traumatic, or plaque disease-induced defects of the gingiva, alveolar mucosa, or bone. These procedures may be performed to restore aesthetics and function, which in turn helps patients improve their smile and periodontal health. This presentation will serve to discuss the various clinical indications for periodontal plastic surgery procedures and how these procedures can benefit our patients.

Prosthodontic reconstruction of damaged teeth or bite can be a very challenging clinical endeavour. In the right hands, the treatment outcome can be very predictable.
