Not all of us are born with straight rows of teeth as misalignment of teeth can be hereditary. The tooth shape, tooth size, number of teeth and jaw size that we inherit from our parents contribute to the alignment of our teeth.
Nonetheless, other contributing factors for crooked teeth include sucking of the thumb/pacifier when young or mouth breathing.
