December is already the most wonderful time of the year for many of us but our bosses made it even better with our annual company dinner.
Colorful & Authentic Ethnic Costumes
To commemorate Singapore’s jubilee year, the theme voted for this year’s annual dinner is “SG50”. We saw many of our colleagues (together with family members, friends and guests) dressed in ethnic costumes and it was indeed an eye-opener to see some of these costumes in real life.
Some of the costumes we saw include Mestiza Gown (sophisticated version of Philippine’s national costume), Htamein (traditional Burmese dress), Hanbok (traditional Korean dress), Baju Kurung (traditional Malay dress), Cheongsam (traditional Chinese dress), Punjabi suit (traditional wear of women in parts of India) and Nonya Kebaya (Peranakan outfit).
Amidst the tough competition, our nurses So Young (in peach/white Hanbok) and Abby (in blue Mestiza Gown) were voted to be the top two winners of the “Best Dressed Competition”.
Fun & Games
We started off the night with a game called “Guess Who/What/Where”, where tables had to gather their brain juices and guess who/what/where was featured in the image as it was revealed slowly. One of the questions is seen here, try guessing! (Hint: The person featured is one of our doctors)
Another game which we played was “Guess the Song”. Four children below the aged of six were invited on stage to sing along to a song which they hear for the first time while the audience guess what song is being sung. These adorable little ones were so brave and you can imagine how proud their parents were as they stood on stage and tried to sing in front of over 90 people.
Attractive Lucky Draws
The total worth of this year’s lucky draw prizes is more than $11,000. With over 20 prizes up for grabs, it was a sure-win lucky draw for the staff and dentists of Specialist Dental Group who attended the dinner.
The top ten prizes include an extra-large Philips airfryer, the most advanced edition of GoPro, iWatch, Tom Tom Multi-Cardio watch, two sets of $500 shopping vouchers, $1,000 travel voucher and 3D2N staycation packages in Bintan, Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Bay Sands.
In addition, Dr Ansgar Cheng, Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics, contributed two Coach bags for the Bonus Draw, which he bought during his recent trip to US (read more about his trip in our next blog post).
