Last Saturday night, 29 Nov 2014, Specialist Dental Group has its annual company dinner. Besides the usual good food, fun and games, it was an extra special night for us. You see, we had been making secret plans to surprise 2 of our longest serving staff – Helen and Lee Lee, for being with the clinic for 10 years. Yes 10 years!
A picture or a #selfie for that matter speaks a thousand words. Here are the highlights that night:
Our theme for the night was ‘Masquerade’. We couldn’t recognize many of our colleagues after they put on their masks!
Out of the 80 cupcakes in our customised cupcake tower, 2 special ones had a grape ‘planted’ inside. The plan was to invite guests who had a surprise inside the cupcake to go on stage for a pre-dinner ‘game’. Of course, the game was nothing but a plan to get Helen and Lee Lee on stage.
A short montage comprising of photos of Helen and Lee Lee from when they first joined our clinic 10 years ago was shown and they were presented with gifts by the management – a caricature and a cheque of $10,000 each. It is our great honour and pleasure to have loyal colleagues like Helen and Lee Lee. We cannot thank them enough for their 10 years of exemplary service, and we hope to be able to celebrate many more 10 years with them, and with our other colleagues. After that, we were thoroughly entertained by the emcee with games and performances. Our doctors, colleagues and their family members even had a chance to show off their vocal prowess and dancing skills for the SDG Idol Award and Best Dressed Award. A special appearance by local comedian, Fei Fei had everyone doubled over in laughter.
The night rounded off with a grand lucky draw and many staff went home not just filled with good food and laughter, but also armed with prizes.
We are grateful to have such a great team of people to work with. A big thank you to all our colleagues, suppliers and vendors for a wonderful 2014. We look forward to 2015 and more good things to come!
