It’s the Formula One Night Race in Singapore again for the 4th year in a row. As of last night, all 82,500 tickets per day to the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix have been sold out.
To commemorate the occasion, we thought we would provide some dental trivia related to the Formula One for your reading pleasure:
#1 – Force India Driver, Adrian Sutil, was rumoured to have lost his teeth in a recent crash in July this year.
#2 – German Colin Kolles, team principal and managing director of the Hispania Racing F1 Team, is actually a dentist by qualification. He was also previously managing director of Force India. His dental skills came in handy on several occasions when he performed emergency dental surgery on one of his drivers at the 2005 Turkish Grand Prix and on another driver at the 2006 French Grand Prix.
#3 Briton, Tony Brooks (born as Charles Anthony Standish Brooks), was known as the racing dentist when he became a Formula 1 driver after completing his dental studies in England. He took part in 39 Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. Brooks won the Formula One Grand Prix several times but never won the World Champion title.
For those of our readers who have a trackside seat, enjoy being in the thick of the action these next few days. For others watching from their television screens in Singapore or internationally, it’s going to be an exciting race with a spendid view of the Singapore skyline by night. Enjoy your F1 weekend and remember to drive safely…
