Dr. Helena Lee received her basic dental training in Singapore and obtained a Master of Science in Periodontology from the Eastman Dental Institute, University of London. Her research successfully used an immunehistochemical method to detect estrogen receptors in gingival cells, which correlates with the clinical signs of gingival inflammation in pregnant women. She is a Clinical Tutor at National University of Singapore (Department of Preventive Dentistry) and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Dr. Lee’s specialty areas of practice includes the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease, gingival plastic surgery, soft and hard tissue grafting and dental implants.
Dr Lee has co-authored several papers in peer-reviewed journals and sits on the Editorial Board of Cosmetic Dentistry: Beauty & Science, the official publication of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Lee has also lectured locally and internationally.
Her poster presentation "Prospective study of the survival rate of endosseous implants using "Teeth-in-an-hour" protocol" at the Noble Biocare 2008 world tour was awarded 2nd prize in the Senior Clinician Research category.
Dr Lee has maintained an active private practice at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre for the past 14 years.
