Dr. Daylene Leong is a Dental Surgeon with Specialist Dental Group. She received her basic dental training at National University of Singapore and advanced training in Periodontology from the University of Michigan, USA. She is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr Leong is a clinical tutor with the National University of Singapore and Associate Staff at National University Hospital, Singapore. She was a part-time clinical instructor with the Undergraduate Dental Clinics at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (2009-2011) and also a part-time clinical instructor at Nanyang Polytechnic’s Dental Hygiene and Therapy Program (2007-2008). She is also active in having her clinical and basic science research writing published in scientific journals and has contributed several chapters in a couple of popular dental specialty textbooks.
She is an ad-hoc reviewer for International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Clinical Oral Implants Research and Journal of Periodontal Research. Dr Leong was also a Board Member of the Singapore Dental Health Foundation.
Her many academic awards include being the recipient of the Inaugural Dr Benson Duff Graduate Periodontics Memorial Scholarship Award from the University of Michigan, the National University of Singapore Alumni Bursary Award, an a medalist with the South East Asia Association for Dental Education. She has also been actively involved in community services as volunteer with several dental health screening campaigns.
She is a member of American Association of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration and treasurer of the Society of Periodontology (Singapore). Dr Leong has a special interest in periodontal aesthetics, periodontal plastic surgery and regeneration as well as implant dentistry.
