Dear CH, thanks for your comment on our blog. We have sent an email to you directly to answer your question. We hope you have received it.

Our clinic is Medisave accredited and the amount of Medisave that can be used towards wisdom tooth extractions is from $600 onwards.

Patients who have wisdom teeth surgery have a choice of local anesthesia or sedation. We have several anesthesiologists available to assist with the sedation which is done at our clinic. In some cases, patients request for general anesthesia, and surgery will be done in the operating theatre.

please let us know if you need further information

Regards,
Specialist Dental Group

Hello there.

I'm a 20 year old and want to get all my four wisdom teeth removed.

After a recent check-up with my dentist, he confirmed that I need to get all four of them removed as there is simply no space on my jaw to accommodate the growth and eruption of these wisdom teeth.

Also, the eruption of these teeth have caused my lower anteriors to start crowding. My permanent right mandibular central incisor has rotated by an angle of 30 degrees now!

I've started wearing braces to correct the problem. However, I need a good surgeon to get these 4 wisdom teeth removed as I am pretty worried about the post-surgery effects (i.e swelling, pain etc.).

Can the procedure be done while I am wearing my braces or will I have to complete my ortho treatment before proceeding with the extraction?

And also, how much would the extraction cost for removal of all four wisdom teeth in one sitting?

Many thanks,
Sin

Dear Yan

Without seeing you, we are unable to confirm whether the issue is an impacted wisdom tooth or another problem. We do issue medical certificates for surgery where indicated. Many of our patients are able to go back to work or regular schedule after surgery but some may prefer to take it easy

the procedure is covered by Medisave. You can make an appointment at: http://www.specialistdentalgroup.com/appointment.php

I have been experiencing pain on and off in the area of my lower left jaw. I think it is a wisdom tooth problem. But after reading your website, i am sure it is. I am trying to find time to get all four removed soon. Will i get a Medical certificate for the surgery or will i be okay by the next day?

Thanx

Dear Liz

thanks for your comment. We will send you information on the fees in a separate email.

Yes, depending on the results of your initial consultation with our dental specialist, you may be able to extract all your wisdom teeth at one sitting. Many of our patients have done so. Usually when 4 teeth are extracted, we would recommend sedation to make the procedure more comfortable for our patients.

We will have an anaesthesiologist present to deliver the sedation and monitor the patient's vital signs during the procedure. We will also provide a list of post-surgery instructions on what to do (and not to do) and what you can or cannot eat after the procedure and for the next day or so.

More information about wisdom teeth extraction can be found on our website at: http://bit.ly/zkbvJ. Our clinic is accredited by Medisave as a day surgery and thus, Medisave can be claimed for wisdom tooth procedures and for other surgical procedures such as dental implants.

Specialist Dental Group
